We commonly hear phrases like:

“Give my website the Wow Factor”, “Make it interactive”, “Make things move around the screen”.

We agree that websites should be beautiful, exciting and engaging. But we see websites that are over-cooked and difficult to use as a result.

One culprit is the inappropriate use of Flash. Too much Flash can make a website slow to load, and if the “creativity” is over-done they can leave the potential customer bewildered. Also consider that Flash content is not necessarily understood by search engines.

Flash is good for things like slideshow and animations but avoid using it for the fundamentals like site navigation.

Your website must:

• Look beautiful
• Work properly
• Be easy to navigate
• Be easy to update and manage
• Be cross browser compatible  and
• Be search engine optimised …………
