Pay-Per-Click
Search engine marketing
Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, MSN adCenter
A website's position in the search engine results page, as described in the search engine optimisation page, is known as its natural search position. But there is another way: paid search.
This means buying your way to the top of a search engine's results page. The most popular method is called pay-per-click, where the search engine displays your advert on the first page of results (usually shown as a 'sponsored link'). You agree to pay the search engine a small amount of money (from as little as a few pence) for every person who visits your website via the 'sponsored link'.
Paid search is becoming more important these days, particularly in very competitive markets; or if your domain name is brand new.
We have over two years' experience of working with pay-per-click programmes and can advise on effective strategies to:
- maximise the conversion rates of potential customers who visit your site
- minimise the cost of each click.
